Discover more about our vision of soundsystem and the value of the team
HIGH’n’Irie SoundSystem is a collective of musicians and sound engineers founded in 2008 in Louvain-La-Neuve.
Originating from Jamaican sound system culture, the name « High’n’Irie » embodies a state of well-being and positivity, reflecting our musical and event approach. We believe in the power of music and art to positively impact the community by providing opportunities for local artists, fostering social inclusion, and strengthening social bonds. Our beginnings were marked by « Free Noiz Party » events in Louvain-La-Neuve, providing a stage for local young artists. These gatherings established our reputation, allowing us to share the stage with renowned artists and participate in the Dour Festival in 2010.
After years of experience and over sixty events between 2011 and 2013, we realized our dream by building our own sound system, inspired by Jamaican and English traditions. Since then, High ‘n’ Irie Sound System has performed in Brussels’ iconic venues and collaborated with passionate local promoters, also hosting prominent names from the dub and dubstep scenes on our sound system.
